How long does it take to form a company?
It depends on your approach. If you take the DIY route, it might take longer. However, if you use incorporation services, it can take as little as 3–6 working hours.
Once your business is active (trading), you have three months to register with HMRC, the UK's tax authority.
If you start trading immediately, your company is considered 'active,' so you must register with HMRC for corporation tax within three months.
How much does it cost to register a LTD company?
There is a £50 filing fee with Companies House to register your company, and you can pay by debit, credit, or PayPal. We include this cost in all of our incorporation packages. So, you won't have to pay anything extra when incorporating through Osome.
Does Osome register my business directly with Companies House?
Yes, if you use our incorporation services, we handle all correspondence with Companies House on your behalf. We manage your documents online via live chat, prepare the application, and file it with the authorities.
What are the documents needed for a LTD company formation in the UK?
Company registration documents are the files issued to your business by Companies House once you have registered. These documents are:
- Your certificate of incorporation

- You must retain these documents at your registered office address and keep them on hand, as you'll need to access them during your company's lifetime.
